SYNCHRONISE - 핸드메이드 필름 메이킹 작업 IV

2023년 상반기 핸드메이드 필름 랩 스페이스 셀(Hand-made film Lab space Cell)에서 동시적으로 발생 된 4인의 작가의 결과물 모음이다. 필름 프린팅 과정에서 사용되는 도구인 싱크로나이저 (Synchroniser) 위의 필름 이미지들처럼 서로의 관계 속에서 작가들의 필름들은 사이를 넘나들며 중첩되고, 탈락하며 다중적으로 노출된다.

직사각형의 화면이 멈추면 사람들이 한 명씩 일어나 프레임 밖으로 걸어나간다. 이탈하는 몸과 자라난 식물 사이에서 발생하는 시공간들. 피드백되며 부서지는 소리를 타고 너와 내가 충돌하고 너는 마침내 이곳을 벗어난다.

모든 것이 아름다웠다.

이 작품은 ‘5월의 장미’라는 일상적인 질료를 통해 멜랑꼴리에 다가가려 한다. 희미해지는 이미지를 붙잡고 싶은 욕망과 사라져버린 잔상에 매혹되는 사적 감각의 흐름으로 움직인다. 이는 필름의 물성과도 맞닿아있으며 프레임과 프레임 사이의 공백, 기억과 망각 사이의 공백에 관한 것이기도 하다.

In the latin “tempus” and in the Korean 기상 (氣象) both the external world of weather and the internal soul are connoted simultaneously through the premise of constant change and indeterminability. The terms temperature, tempest, temper, temperament reflect this dual meaning relating the external to the internal and the self to the world as one continuum.(E)motions emerge from 2 distinct blocs of motion left to repeat and finally merge. A search for the disharmony that lurks amongst surfaces.
